So, Do You Still Drink Contaminated Tap Water?

 It is really shocking and at the same time sad to see how many people drink contaminated tap water on a daily basis. Most people are unfortunately under the misconception that the water they drink is perfectly safe. However, the truth is far from it. I've got a 30" High Pressure Steel Pipe with 325 MMcf/d and a 960 MAOP flowing into a tap which is?

connected to a 24" High Pressure Steel Pipe with a Maximum Operating Pressure of 960 as well. I need to know what formulas and how to calculate what size tap should be used to get a flow of 260 MMcf/d through the 24" pipe
if any other information is needed, I'll try and provide what I've got.

A general rule of thumb is to only tap a line with a branch that is about 1/2 the nominal size of the main line. To do a better analysis, you need to know what the lowest operating pressure will be at the tap and the minimum required pressure at the other end of the 24" line and its length. You seemed to have assumed you will need a 24" size line but with the information I have outlined, you should be able to estimate the minimum line size you really need.
